I created the '''headline''' format of note taking for my [[American Studies]] notes in [[11th Grade]]

Each line of notes should be written like a newspaper headline.

*short
*concise
*still makes sense
*about one per paragraph
*skip a line at major section breaks

Using this method I wrote one solidly filled page of notes in most cases for about 5 pages of text.

This method gets you to think about and compact what you are reading. Over time you get to learn how much information fits on a line. By limiting yourself to one page (and allowing your self to go over every few times) you force yourself to only write the important information, while not skimping.
